The gameplay reveal trailer confirmed that users would be able to customize their avatar. During the AutoDesk event on August 3rd, 2022, the HUD running the character customization menu was officially shown, though the final tab "House" has not been seen.
Tab: Presets
Users have the option to choose one of about twenty previously-created options for a character. They alternate boy-girl. Currently, there appears to be no option to add a preset to this screen--though that functionality may exist elsewhere.
Tab: Facewear
The user will have the opportunity to select face shape (15 choices), eyeglasses (four options including "none"), and skin color (20 options on a slider).
Tab: Hairstyles
There is a significant number of hair styles (unknown, obscured by slider box) and hair colors (32 total).
Tab: Complexion
Two sliders for freckles and moles--both with ten options--and ten "scars and markings" options including "none".
Tab: Eyebrows
Oddly titled "Eyebrows", the eye portion of the HUD lets you choose eye color (25 options), an independent eyebrow color slider in case you don't want your eyebrows to match all the other hair on your body (33 options), and at least 20 eyebrow shape options that alter your brow ridge.
Tab: Finalize Your Character
Despite having an icon that would indicate that this is where you choose significant Hogwarts-related gameplay decisions like "house" and "wand type", it turns out this tab is specifically about gender and voice. You can choose between Voice One (male, voiced by Sebastian Croft) and Voice Two (female, voiced by Amelia Gething). You can also change the pitch of said voices. You can choose your difficulty settings among the following:
- Story (removes all timers from mini-games, making them unfailable)
- Easy
- Normal
- Hard
Finally, this tab will let you name your character (first name and surname) as well as define "witch" or "wizard" even though the voice you selected should have done that for you.
