The Hallowed Hero
How to Earn: equip a Deathly Hallow
A Deathly Hallow refers to any of the three Hallows from the story. They are the Cloak of Invisibility, the Resurrection Stone, and the Elder Wand. Given that the list of people to hold the Elder Wand is set in stone (and you're not on it), you're going to be looking for one of the other two.

How to Earn: defeat Ranrok

The Seeker of Knowledge
How to Earn: win the house cup
RATING: VERY DIFFICULT
Despite the fact that several members of the Avalanche team suggested otherwise, choices you make in the cutscene can allow your house to earn enough points to win the House Cup. The problem is that in order to earn this achievement you have to get things right for the full length of your playthrough to earn enough points. It is possible that one of the houses wins by default even if you do nothing, but we're not sure which one that is yet.
The Companion Quest Line Achievements
Each of the three companions has a series of side quests that you can complete to curry favor, learn new spells, and gain experience points. Once the full line is completed, users will also earn an achievement. The title of the achievement changes based on which companion we're talking about. They are:
- The Avenging Gazelle, Natsai Onai
- Beast Friends, Poppy Sweeting
- A Sallow Grave, Sebastian Sallow
The Defender of Dragons
How to Earn: save a dragon
We're pretty sure that this one occurs naturally during the course of one of Poppy Sweeting's side quests. Thus, completing the full Poppy Sweeting quest line gurantees this achievement as well. However, on January 18, 2023, dozens of people were invited to play and review Hogwarts Legacy at a special event. The footage that followed included a quest called "Fire and Vice", the end of which showed us saving a dragon. That quest was in the middle of Poppy's quest chain, so completing her line is not mandatory to get this achievement.
Flight the Good Flight
How to Earn: beat Imelda's time in all broom races
The sporting goods store vendor in Hogsmeade recruits the student to test upgraded brooms. Presumably you want to wait until he gives you his best broom and then you can breeze through this one without issue.
The Map Chamber Achievements
How to Earn: [GRYFFINDOR] Find the Map Chamber
RATING: EASY
The map chamber is part of the early game. You can't progress without finding it, so it's inevitable you will get a least one of these within the first hour. This achievement is more about the braging rights of, "I played each house for at least an hour". The title of the achievement changes based on which house you were sorted into when you found the map chamber. They are:
- [GRYFFINDOR] The Gryffindor in the Graveyard
- [HUFFLEPUFF] The Auror's Apprentice
- [RAVENCLAW] The Wise Owl
- [SLYTHERIN] The Toast of the Town
That's a Keeper
How to Earn: meet Charles Rookwood
RATING: EASYNot that Rookwood, the other Rookwood. You cannot miss this one as it is an essential part of the map room experience. Find the map room and you'll get this and the one above for your house. This blog has an entire page about the Keepers, if you're interested in learning more.
The Good Samaritan
How to Earn: complete every side quest

Challenge Accepted
How to Earn: complete every tier of one challenge

Collector's Edition
How to Earn: complete all collections
Once the game is out, we will talk about any hints you may need to earn this achievement.
A Keen Sense of Spell
How to Earn: use ancient magic
RATING: EASYAt any point-in-time, if you use anicent magic you will get this achievement. Other than "The Sort Who Makes an Entrance", which literally requires you to not touch any buttons at the start of the game, this is the easiest achievement.
Finishing Touches
How to Earn: use ancient magic on every enemy type at least once
Once the game is out, we will talk about any hints you may need to earn this achievement.
Loom for Improvement
How to Earn: upgrade one piece of gear one time
RATING: EASYThe best way to do this is to take any white item and throw a single upgrade on it. Super cheap to do, you don't even need to keep it, and it can happen as early as when you use the identification station in the Room of Requirement for the first time.
Third Time's a Charm
How to Earn: upgrade one piece of gear a total of three times
Once the game is out, we will talk about any hints you may need to earn this achievement.
The Root of the Problem
How to Earn: stun ten (10) enemies using one mandrake
You're looking for a dense pack, but something other than spiders.
The Nature of the Beast
How to Earn: breed at least one of each type of rescued beast
Obviously collecting two of each is the hard part. Pay special attention to the icons on the mini-map that identify where beasts can be collected. Also, you'll need to unlock all three vivariums. That makes this one of the last and most-time-consuming achievements you can go for--though certainly having all of those extra ingredients for crafting is a huge plus.
Going Through the Potions
How to Earn: brew at least one of each potion
Not only do you need all the ingredients in the game, but you also need to attend the prerequesite potions classes to get the recipes. Also, keep in mind that this includes the Liquid Luck potion.
Put Down Roots
How to Earn: grow at least one of each plant
Once the game is out, we will talk about any hints you may need to earn this achievement.
A Talent for Spending
How to Earn: spend five talent points
RATING: EASYLiterally you get this at level 6 unless you're a masochist.
Savvy Spender
How to Earn: spend every talent point
Obviously you have to earn max level, making this one of the most-time-consuming achievements. Make sure you keep at least one playthrough as your "primary".
Room with a View
How to Earn: reach the headmaster's upper study
You can't just walk into the man's office and the ceiling on broom flight just happens to be below his window, so play nice. It is unclear at this time if you can broom-flight up to his exterior office stairwell.
Spilled Milk
How to Earn: flippendo any cow(s) ten times
RATING: EASYLearn flippendo. Find some cows. Get to work. Easy-peasy.
Floo Around the World
How to Earn: unlock every floo flame
Stunningly difficult as you also need to cover almost the entirety of the map on mount or foot.
Followed the Butterflies
How to Earn: follow butterflies to a treasure
We're pretty sure there's only one place it can be done.
Rise to the Challenges
How to Earn: defeat all enemies in all battle arenas
Two of the battle arenas come with the vanilla game. It is unclear if this achievement also requires the Dark Arts battle arena to complete.
Merlin's Beard!
How to Earn: solve every merlin trial
If each Merlin circle has a different solution, this one is going to take a huge amount of time.
The Intrepid Explorer
How to Earn: find every cairn dungeon
We will have a list once the game comes out.
Coasting Along
How to Earn: visit Poidsear Coast
RATING: EASYThis is the third easiest achievement, as you can simply hop on a broom and go straight there the second you have access to the Highlands. Poidsear is a medium-sized region due south of Hogwarts past the windmill on the east side of the South Sea.
Demiguise Dread
How to Earn: find every demiguise statue
Not easy, but there aren't many of them.
The Ends Petrify the Means
How to Earn: use Petrificus Totalis on fifty (50) enemies
This doesn't require a stealth build, per se, but it does ask that you spend some time stealthing at least some of the weaker enemies. Of course, if you are doing a stealth build this achievement is a no-brainer.
Raising Expectations
How to Earn: get a combo of 100
Wherever you are when you hit ten enemies with a mandrake, replay that area and use just basic wand attacks and spells. You're going to need to dodge A TON!!!
The Spell Master
How to Earn: learn every spell
It is unclear at this time whether they mean on a single character or across all saved characters.
A Forte for Achievement
How to Earn: reach level 40
If you're already going for maximum talent points, you'll get this one anyway.
First Class Student
How to Earn: attend any class once
RATING: EASYOne of your first main quests is to find the Charms class. You might be able to not actually attend that class, but since you're there anyway you might as well step in. This one is super easy.
Troll with the Punches
How to Earn: survive the opening troll attack
RATING: EASYSimply put, one of the opening moments involves a troll attack. If you defeat the troll (use your ancient magic), you'll get this and many people will call you "The Troll Slayer", which feels quite nice.
Rising From the Ashes
How to Earn: rescue one phoenix
There's only one. Good luck finding him.
